My inspirational art trips to Europe – for extended lengths of time for up to a year to study the Master Artist’s techniques and artwork has been my greatest influence. I blend the rich browns from Holland with the French whites upon the golds & textures of Italy together on the canvas to create unique art pieces.
The acrylics or oil are applied to a base texture of marble dust & leafing in thin glazes of up to 100 layers to achieve the intense depth of colour. Long days over a
period of 3-7 weeks are required for each painting to complete. The Mixed Media works are composed of the same elements on the base textured canvas upon which I created a technique to transfer my photography to achieve a translucent glow.
The artwork has been collected in Canada, United States, England, Belgium, Australia, & Italy. My paintings are a reflection of a life’s journey over the past 40+ years.
