Wayne Larson

Wayne Larsen

Wayne’s early experiences camping, fishing and boating instilled an appreciation of the outdoors as well as an early appreciation of the arts, later interests included aviation and hunting which broadened his horizons. Wayne’s paintings reflect a lifetime spent outdoors highlighting scenes from off the beaten track. Wayne has been largely self taught but gives credit to the many workshops he has attended hosted by talented artists. After working for 45 years on the Sunshine Coast of B.C. Wayne moved to Big Bar Lake where he has a studio in his home. This allows Wayne to satisfy his compulsion to paint at any time

Artist Statement

I am guided by a need to create, I paint to satisfy myself, I paint Plein Air, and in my studio I paint from reference photos or my imagination. My curiosity compels me to follow the “IWWTRG” or “I Wonder Where That Road Goes” I am especially drawn to scenes of wild seashores, mountains, valleys, lakes, rivers and streams as well as old cabins, farm houses and derelict or abandoned buildings.
